Nexedi is looking for a trainee to participate in the development of our
open-source Big Data platform, called "Wendelin" (
http://www.wendelin.io/) which is based on "scikit-learn" (
http://scikit-learn.org) and is
constructed on top of our NoSQL database NEO.
Wendelin allows us to create "out-of-core" solutions using matrices exceeding
available RAM up to exabytes-scale and is currently being implemented on
several client and resarch projects.
The traineeship will focus on R&D experiments using different data sources.
As most of our staff are former trainees, you could make yourself a permanent
job depending on the outcome of your trainee program.

- Work on diagnosing and producing Big Data test scenarios

Requirements
- Passionate, self-driven
- Willingness to contribute to an open source ecosystem and the Free Software community
- Development skills in Python, JavaScript a plus
- Mathematical skills is a plus
- Software development skills (version control, testing, debugging)
- Good knowledge of GNU/Linux
- Good command of English

Nexedis' open source software is currently used by corporations (Airbus, Sanef,
Mitsubishi) around the world (France, China, Ethiopia) as well as international
financial institutions. We are primarily developing with Python and JavaScript
and are strictly open-source - even for our daily operations. We follow the
principles of reflexive programming, enforce strict unit testing and emphazise
using the latest web technologies.
Our economic model requires each developer to fulfill R&D objectives aiming
at deliverying short and medium solutions to customer requirements and
progressing the evolution of our software stack. This way we try to be
innovative and fund long term free software without the need for
